Next US Presidential Election

When is the next presidential election is the most common question that arose at the time of this crisis? The election days are finalized as of November 3, 2020. This will be the 59th presidential election. The voters’ selection will turn the new President of the US and vice president of the US on December 14, 2020, in the next US Presidential Election. The indirect election process has been started from February 2020. 

According to the United States Constitution, Article 2 states that the person who served as President. The person nominated must be a natural-born citizen of the United States of America. The minimum age is 35 years. Candidates must be nominated from one of the prominent political parties.  

The selection process comprises of Primary Election, which is actually called as indirect elections. In this process, voters cast ballots for a slate of party delegates pledged to a particular candidate. After the results, the party officially nominates the individual to run the election on their behalf. 

 The general election is in November. This part is also an indirect election in the later part, voters cast ballots for the state of members of the Electoral College. Later the electors then directly elect the President and vice president. 

The two prominent candidates of the election are Donald Trump (Republican Party) and Joseph R. Biden Jr (Democratic Party).

Mr. Joseph R. Biden Jr., at the age of 77, is a former vice president and former senator from Delaware. He has run elections for the presidency twice. He is known to be a genuine person. He is famous among the working class. His period in presidency years of Mr. Barack Obama as a vice president is the major selling for this election. As he says,

“If we give Donald Trump eight years more, he will forever alter the character of the nation, who we are, I cannot watch that happen.”
